Where to Find Art in Downtown Oshkosh!

56% of Oshkosh’s population don’t know about the city’s public art collection. Over the years, the City of Oshkosh has been working to improve the cultural and aesthetic opportunities in Oshkosh. Art is meant to be enjoyed and accessible to everyone. Even before the improvements of Oshkosh’s art scene were taking place, the city has had a history of sophisticated, yet playful art. You can enjoy many artistic venues, whether indoors or outdoors, right here in downtown Oshkosh. Check out our list of where to find art right here in Downtown Oshkosh.

 

Indoors

ArtSpace Collective

The ArtSpace Collective has been around Oshkosh for 22 years. Members of the collective and guest artists can display their work here throughout the year. At the end of the year, the collective hosts an end-of-the-year exhibit for their members artists centered around a theme.

 

Jambalaya Arts 

Jambalaya Arts is a non-profit social club and venue for Wisconsin artists of all mediums. They participate in the Oshkosh Gallery Walk every first Saturday of the month. In addition, you can view artwork at Jambalaya during our monthly First Fridays event. 

 

Shops

Many shops in downtown Oshkosh choose to display art during the monthly Oshkosh Gallery Walk. The following shops normally participate in the Oshkosh Gallery Walk:

Restaurants

Several restaurants in downtown Oshkosh display local art. You can usually find art at the following locations either during Oshkosh Gallery Walk or on display throughout the month:

Outdoors

Murals

Oshkosh is adorned with numerous murals, thanks to last year’s mini mural project. You can find murals from 20 local artists scattered around downtown Oshkosh. You can also find the Oshkosh Indian Mural across from the Grand Opera House and the Oshkosh Musical Mural on 401 N Main St.  

 

Statues

The City of Oshkosh has been working for the past several years to revitalize different public art pieces in town. When strolling through downtown, you’ll find lake flies, soldiers, and a larger-than-life sundial.
