Based on author Louisa May Alcott’s life, the Broadway musical version of LITTLE WOMEN follows the adventures of sisters Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March as they grow into ‘little women.’ Struggling to be herself at home, Jo travels to New York where she tries to sell her stories for publication. When the publishers are not interested, her friend Professor Bhaer tells her that there is an astonishing story inside her, if only she has the bravery to tell it. Begrudgingly taking his advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters growing up in Civil War America, only to find herself speechless when tragedy strikes. Focusing on on the revolution of idealistic young adults in societies which dictate their actions and emotions, this Hysterical Productions season explores the struggle to remain true to oneself in the face of adversity; through ANTIGONE and HAMLET, closing with the Broadway musical, LITTLE WOMEN.
