Pottery Wheel Workshops

January 25, 2018


Description
These workshops are for beginners and no experience with wheel throwing is required. We recommended that each attendee be at least 13 years of age. Each workshop we will be going through the basics at the beginning and there will be an instructor to help throughout the process. We will provide 2 blocks of clay, allowing for up to two projects to be created. Any additional projects can be fired/painted for an additional fee. We cannot guarantee that each attendee will complete two projects. Projects created on the wheel will depend upon skill level (most beginners will create a bowl shape) Each wheel throwing workshop are 50 minutes of throwing - 10 minutes is reserved for clean up and prep and the cost is $40/student + tax. You can sign up for back-to-back workshops if you would like to throw for longer. Registration and payment is required to sign up for class. Class is limited to 6 students. The projects will be fired and ready to be painted in about 2 weeks, so you will have to return to paint, we will then fire again and it will be completed in about 1 more week. (Pieces will be held for 60 days before being donated/tossed). Please arrive to class on time, in clothes that you don't mind getting dirty (the clay will wash out but their sleeves and legs are likely to get dirty despite wearing aprons). Everyone should have their hair tied back and they should not being wearing jewelry and nails should be trimmed shorter. Clay pieces can sometimes break, explode, and just not make it through the firing process or they can end up with imperfections. We will not offer refunds or be held liable for these incidents.

Couples Wheel Throwing

Yup, just like in Ghost! Well, not exactly.... ....it is not as easy (or as sexy) as the movie, imagine that! But it is a lot of fun and definitely quality time spent with your significant other. So grab them and put on some "art" clothes (yes, shirts are required) and join other couples for an introductory class on the wheel. $90 per couple, registration is required and limited. Class will run for 90 minutes and each participant will be throwing a bowl individually and than each couple will throw a bowl "together". The bowls will be fired and you can choose to have it painted in one of our pottery glazes by us or you can return to paint yourself! We only have 6 wheels which means we will be limiting this class to 6 couples so please register early to guarantee your spot!

Special guest Kaley Ann Voorhees is best known for her portrayal of Christine in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s longest running musical, The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. She is one of the youngest to play the role at the Majestic Theatre, starting her run at the age of 20.

Other Broadway shows include Les Misérables, Camelot, and Finian’s Rainbow. Marcus Lovett began his career in the original Broadway production of Les Misérables while he simultaneously appeared on ABC’s One Life to Live. His other Broadway credits include the lead roles in Aspects of Love and King David. Brent Barrett has entertained millions of fans around the world from the stages of Broadway, the West End, concert halls, recording studios, and television. He currently is reprising his role as Billy Flynn in CHICAGO-The Musical. Franc D’Ambrosio has performed the role of the Phantom for close to 2,300 performances. In film, he portrayed the role of Anthony Corleone, the opera-singing son of Al Pacino and Diane Keaton, in the Academy Award-nominated film Godfather III. Special guest Kaley Ann Voorhees is best known for her portrayal of Christine in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s longest running musical, The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. She is one of the youngest to play the role at the Majestic Theatre, starting her run at the age of 20.

This Fun, Family Focused Event is located just south of Green Bay in De Pere, WI. You’ll be greeted by cows at the Finish Line along with Chocolate Milk, Ice Cream, Yogurt, a variety of local cheeses, and more. We’ll have balloon animals, face painting, live music and a New 18,000 sqft Handi-Cap Accessible Playground installed by the De Pere Parks Department for all to enjoy.
